PRS Foundation Supported Artists Awarded at this Year’s RPS Awards

We are delighted to share the news that three of our very talented PRS Foundation supported grantees have each picked up a prize at the annual RPS Music Awards!

The #FundedByPrsf grantees who have been awarded the prestigious accolade include:

Manchester Camerata (Best Ensemble)
Manchester Camerata are currently receiving funding through our Open Fund for Organisations scheme which will support a commission that will take place in June with Colin Riley.

Opera North (Opera and Theatre)
Opera North, one of our Talent Development Partners, won an award for ‘The Ring Cycle’ and their chief conductor, Richard Farnes, also won an award for the Conductor category.

Philip Venables (Best Large-scale Composition)
Philip Venables was awarded a prize for his first opera, 4.48 Psychosis. Philip is currently a Composers’ Fund recipient and is also participating in one of our New Music Biennial projects for 2017.

Huge congratulations to all of the artists and music creators awarded at last night’s event! For a full list of last night’s winners you can find out more on the RPS website.
