ADE 2016: Blanck Mass

Blanck Mass is Benjamin John Power, better known as one half of the experimental electronic duo Fuck Buttons. Blanck Mass sprung to life in 2011 with his first studio only S/T album released on Mogwai’s very own Rock Action label. The track ‘Sundowner’ from Blanck Mass was picked up by Rick Smith (Underworld) and director Danny Boyle for heavy inclusion in London 2012 Olympic opening ceremony. Around this time Blanck Mass became not only a studio project but also a live act. Since then Blanck Mass have released a second album called ‘Dumb Flesh’, an EP called ‘The Great Confuso’ and in July 2016 a new single called ‘D7-D5’. Blanck Mass is set to release a new album in 2017 and will use the opportunity of this award to play new compositions at the Amsterdam Dance Event to an audience of influence. We want to take the record campaign globally and ADE is an excellent opportunity for us to start that motion.
