Phronesis + Engines Orchestra perform Dave Maric’s Decade Zero: Beyond Borders

At a pivotal time for the planet both in nature and humanity Dave Maric’s Decade Zero explores the notion that the next 10 years is essential for the future of the world we live in. At a time of polarised opinions and societal division Maric unites two leading collaborative forces through his multifaceted music drawing influences from jazz, contemporary classical, electronica and more. Co-commissioned by Cheltenham, Manchester and the EFG London Jazz Festival with support from PRS Foundation; Decade Zero unites the internationally acclaimed Phronesis with the UK’s groundbreaking Engines Orchestra (conducted by Phil Meadows) to find out what Maric thinks the world really has in store for our future. The premiere was recorded and broadcast by BBC Radio 3’s Jazz Now and all partners couldn’t be more excited to bring the project to more venues across the UK and Ireland with the help of Beyond Borders in 2018.

‘Phronesis’ mind expanding collaboration with composer Dave Maric and the Engines Orchestra, for the premiere of the daring and complex ‘Decade Zero’, offered an adrenalin rush of cerebral and sensuous sonic thrills.’ // JAZZWISE
