Book Slam is London’s first/ best/ only literary nightclub, which features all the top writers, the finest live music and a semi-professional Serbian DJ. Our guests have included the likes of Hanif Kureishi, Dave Eggers, Adele, Nick Hornby, Kate Nash and many more. You should come. It’s fun.
Book Slam is the brainchild of superstar musical maverick, Ben Watt, and author, Patrick Neate. Ben has long since moved on to pastures new, but Patrick still likes to think he’s in charge. However, most of the real work’s done by programmer and publicist, Angela Robertson (whom Patrick first met at a drum ‘n’ bass gig in Tokyo in 1997. Strange but true), and experienced promoter, Elliott Jack (everyone loves Elliott. Really they do).
Book Slam usually (but not always) takes place on the last Thursday of every month.
