Clock Opera: Momentum

CO_portrait_002

Activity: Momentum funding will support promotional costs for our upcoming second album campaign, to include artwork, videos, press / online PR costs and radio plugging. In addition, Momentum funding will support costs of mastering the album and editing of additional episodes of Clock Docs (our self-made making-of series), to be released in lead up to album release May 2016.

Having just finished recording our second album, Momentum funding comes at a crucial time for us. It will be massively helpful in supporting our album campaign, including video production costs, radio plugging and PR. Most significantly, the funding will help us to retain greater control of our music and to define our own path in selecting the best partnerships and methods of release. We believe this to be vital in ensuring our long-term artistic vision and are very grateful for the support.

Biog:

Clock Opera‘s acclaimed debut ‘Ways To Forget’ was called “one of the indisputable masterpieces of British pop in 2012…rare sonic ambition and scope” by The Sunday Times. Clash Magazine called it “a bar-raiser – an album of intelligent synth-pop bubbling with humanity”. The next eighteen months saw the band tour the album around the world with the likes of Alt-J, Metronomy and Everything Everything to become a highly regarded live act, playing over fifty UK and international festivals, gradually rising up bills to headline stages at Bestival, Latitude and Festival No.6.

Returning home, Clock Opera spent the next two years writing their follow up album. The resulting material was honed and recorded over the summer of 2015 in rural Kent, with co-producer/mixer Kristopher Harris (Bears Den, Smoke Fairies). ‘Changeling’, the first single from their new album, announced their return and was described as ‘spine-tingling’ by DIY. Joined by new member Nic Nell, in November/December 2015 the band have played sold out UK & European tours with Marina & The Diamonds and Maximo Park, showcasing new material to large audiences, sending levels of anticipation for the upcoming album, due for release in early 2016, soaring skyward.
