Contemporary Music For All (CoMA): The Open Fund for Organisations

Contemporary Music for All (CoMA) is the UK’s only music organisation offering contemporary music opportunities at a grassroots level. Over 28 years, CoMA has provided development and performance opportunities for amateur musicians throughout the UK, commissioned hundreds of works and “brought together people in a way only CoMA could” (Susannah Eastburn). CoMA’s biennial festival provides a national platform for participants to develop, create and perform contemporary music together.

As an integral part of the 2022 Contemporary Music for All Festival, this project allows CoMA to commission 13 new works from early to mid-career UK composers, expanding the range of contemporary classical music suitable for amateur performance. The commissioned composers include Oliver Leith, Xia Leon Sloane, Yshani Perinpanayagam, Heloise Werner & Amy Bryce, amongst others. All 13 composers are highly regarded for their unique compositional voices, artistic curiosity, work ethic and are writing compositions at the cutting edge of British art music development. Their new works will be premiered in the 2022 CoMAFest, which includes 50+ events across the UK, EU and USA alongside an online platform of live streams, workshops, a youth develop scheme and a new interactive digital commission. CoMA operates activities throughout the UK. We are a platform open to musicians of all ages and standards, so if you would like to get involved, please get in touch via our website!
