As the first phase of a new site-specific composition, Ed Carter will be installing a barograph to monitor and record the ‘atmosphere’ at The Sage Gateshead.

Over the course of four weeks, visitors will see the installation gradually create a series of graphs, charting changes in atmospheric pressure within the venue during the seasonal transition from Winter to Spring.

The charts will then be used as graphic scores for a brand new piece of music, to be performed live in June, as part of Festival of the North East.
