2012 marks the 20th anniversary of Hull Jazz Festival. The PRSF award will support the presentation of young jazz bands based in the north of England to present new work at the E20 weekend in association with Manchester, Cork and North Sea Jazz Festivals over the period.

J-Night is a not for profit organisation, an RFO of Arts Council and a corporate event of Hull City Council, with a mission to increase the profile of contemporary jazz artists. This will be achieved by:

Presenting a nationally-important festival linking Hull’s ambition to be a major European city

Increasing profile of contemporary jazz

Providing professional platforms celebrating jazz as a diverse music and cultural genre

Developing new generations of jazz musicians and audiences

In 2012 we will develop a major new outdoors event in Hull Fruit Market to mark our 20th anniversary.
