LEVELZ: Momentum
LEVELZ are a bunch of Mancunian Mavericks who are also top mates who decided a few years ago to go into a studio and tour. Consisting of the majority of the cream of Manchester’s Bass Music and MC talent, the 14 core members are BIOME, BLACK JOSH, BRICKS, CHIMPO, CHUNKY, DUB PHIZIX, FOX, JONNY DUB, METRODOME, RICH REASON, SKITTLES, SPARKZ, T-MAN and TRUTHOS MUFASA; all who rotate creative duties and girlfriends with remarkable (and surprisingly harmonius) regularity. They released a mixtape (“LVL 11”) in January that a lot of people more educated and refined than them actually seemed to really like, and they get booked remarkably frequently around the UK and further afield for an act that upsets the security and drinks the bar dry on such a regular basis; must be that the only thing they do better than have a good time is to make tunes and smash raves.
They have recently be found rabble-rousing at Glastonbury Festival, Fabric, The Warehouse Project, Boomtown, Detonate, Outlook Festival, Tramlines and were the first ever “Grime” crew to play at the Panorama Bar in Berghain.
They are using the grant to fund the recording of new material, and then to create a music video and promotional campaign.
