Lyrix Organix is the UK’s leading promoter of innovative, collaborative and charitable live music/poetry events.
A ground-breaking, grassroots movement – reinvigorating the lyrical, musical and conscious roots of the spoken word. A space where artists spark and audiences tingle. Potent poetry, revolutionist Hip Hop, spine-tingling Folk, raw Soul and Beatboxing collide in a palette of innovative events – from music venues to festivals, pop-up stores and galleries. Our reputation for diversity, cutting-edge talent and ethical ethos has seen them put on shows from Glastonbury Festival to Brighton Fringe.
Since early 2009 this organic movement has blossomed independently; self-financed and not-for-profit. They work closely with international humanitarian aid charity Médecins Sans Frontières (to whom they have donated all their profits to date). Lyrix Organix proudly develops the finest emerging poets, freestyle MC’s, singers, beatboxers, musicians, DJ’s, graphic designers and visual artists to harvest a creative community of boundary-pushing individuals.
Lyrix Organix has been commissioned to create an exceptional live music and poetry production that will transform outside spaces across London boroughs – as part of the Olympics festival programme. Entitled ‘Lyrix Organix: Relay’, the show takes place 360 degrees around the audience – with singers, musicians, poets, rappers and beatboxers improvising live and collaborating seamlessly.
PRS Foundation funding will help to extend the potential of this production – to develop a nationwide tour, provide platforms to UK-wide artists, set up workshops and create an artist development programme with opportunities to join ‘Lyrix Organix: Relay’ tours.
