Laura Groves: Momentum
Laura Groves is a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter, originally from Yorkshire and living in London.
Since releasing her ‘Blue Roses’ album in 2009 on XL Recordings, Laura has been involved in many musical projects, including the composition and performance of a live score for the silent film ‘Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde’ at the BFI and the release of two EPs on Bullion’s DEEK Recordings label – ‘Thinking About Thinking’ in 2013 and ‘Committed Language’ in 2016. She is one third of collaborative pop outfit Nautic.
Laura’s music combines classic songwriting with her own sonic world made up of synths, ambient sounds and vocal arrangements, drawing on an eclectic range of influences. Much of her work is self-produced and begins its life in her home studio.
Laura often plays live with a six-piece band and contributes to other live projects – recently singing with This Heat and playing keys for Bat for Lashes.
