Saint Clair: Momentum

“Saint Clair is starting to sound like the next big indie-pop act to come out of England” – Pigeons and Planes

Saint Clair launched into the world last year with two compelling singles in Heavy On My Heart and Sailing, both produced by Ninja Tune’s Raffertie and Ben Jones and with over 300,000 streams and counting.

So-called after her mother’s Scottish ancestry, Saint Clair is the recording alias of French-speaking North Londoner, Emma Topolski. Growing up surrounded by painters, actors and journalists, Saint Clair became the first in her family to turn to music, with a career that’s so far taken her on the road as a backing vocalist for long-time friend Laura Marling (in whose Reversal of the Muse project she also participated, alongside HAIM, Dolly Parton and Marika Hackman and whom she supported at 2 sold-out London Roundhouse shows), and seen her play keyboards and sing BVs for Ghostpoet. She has also supported Bastille on their most recent arena tour, as singer and bassist in emerging Radio-1supported rockers, Childcare and regularly pens songs for other artists.

Her beguiling and unmistakable husk repeatedly draws you into an intimate, unguarded and emotional world and serves as the backbone to her debut EP ‘D1’, released last May on her own imprint, Dearly Beloved. Her second EP ‘D2’ is due out in October.
