NEXT LEVEL – building creative ambition and commercial acumen

PUNCH’s NEXT LEVEL offers artists a tiered gradient of development opportunities, carefully matched to make a step change in their levels of creative ambition and industry recognition. Each tier builds participant’s practice through strands of workshops, events, mentoring and performances. A calendar of capacity-building sessions is delivered by established artists, teaching creative practices young musicians can apply to grow their abilities and repertoire.

GALLERY 37 provides opportunities for young emerging musicians. Workshop sessions build to week-long, on-site residencies in songwriting, beatmaking, digital, musicianship and stagecraft, with showcase performances by project graduates in the autumn. GALLERY 37 also offers opportunities for established musicians to become involved by supporting or leading workshops. GIFTED 37 is our commissioning strand for project graduates, aimed at supporting their professional debut – their first single release or headline performance.

WELCOME TO MY CITY is PUNCH’s flagship touring programme for early-career artists. Designed as an introduction to the realities of touring, WELCOME TO MY CITY is an opportunity for participating musicians to headline before their home audience and support peer artists in other cities around the UK.

THE “P” WORD is a creative networking programme for BME musicians and their peers- band members, managers, songwriters. It provides space to discuss artistic and practical issues in “closed group session” with invited industry professionals. THE “P” WORD is helping the industry to understand the issues facing BME musicians through our partnership with the CENTRE FOR RESEARCH IN ETHNIC MINORITY ENTREPRENEURSHIP (CREME) – and personalized mentoring to help participants overcome them and thrive.
