Mr Underwood is a musician, sound artist and instrument designer. He has an almost unhealthy fascination with sound, often being distracted by a squeaky shoe or the sound of the ventilation system when he should be concentrating on something else. A hacker at heart; he can’t help but twist and develop, to find new ways of creating music, sounds and interfaces with instruments and technology. As an accomplished sound recordist and studio producer, he often incorporates “found sound”, and can realise complex sonic ideas. Live he can be found performing in a variety of guises; electronic music through his all-hardware set up, improvising on guitar, process pieces, and performing as part of a drone tuba trio. Mr Underwood plays well with others and has a firm belief in the power of collaboration to enhance and enrich.
