Sarah Lianne Lewis is a Welsh composer, based in Cardiff. She grew up in West Wales, and listened to music from a young age. She began studying piano at the age of five, and went on to play violin, clarinet, and bass recorder, as well as studying singing for a number of years. She was a member of local orchestras and choirs as a child, and progressed to a regional and national level as a teenager, accepting a place in the National Youth Choir of Wales in 2007.

She graduated from Cardiff University in 2009, with a BA (Hons) in Music and History, having studied composition with Arlene Sierra and piano with Catherine Milledge. She has also been mentored by Lynne Plowman and John Metcalf in recent years. She then continued on to complete a Masters in Composition under the tuition of Professor Anthony Powers and Dr. Arlene Sierra.

Sarah has been paired with the Bristol Saxophone Ensemble as part of Adopt a Composer 2012/13 which is funded by PRS for Music Foundation.
