Soosan Lolavar’s early musical exploits were firmly based in the classical tradition as an oboist and composer. On embarking on an undergraduate degree in Social and Political Sciences at the University of Cambridge she began to explore computer-aided composition and the musical potential of electronic and ambient sounds. Later, while reading for a masters in Musicology at the University of Oxford she continued her compositional work and focused her academic interests on the social and cultural study of popular music.

Soosan is said to be delighted to announce that she will be taking part in the Adopt a Composer 2012. This annual scheme supported by PRS for Music Foundation, pairs six composers with six non-professional music groups across the UK. Soosan will be working with the Tudor Orchestra based in North Finchley on a new piece to be premiered in June 2013.
