Story Books have been rapidly accruing fans since a demo version of their song ‘Peregrine’ caught the ear of Radio 1’s Huw Stephens. With its delicate arpeggios and impassioned vocals the track was chosen for the Radio 1 BBC Introducing playlist, prompting it’s official release last summer and taking in plays from the likes of Fearne Cotton, Greg James, Scott Mills et al. Jaw-dropping live performances followed from the Kent-based 5 piece, including sold-out headline shows at London’s Lexington, Electrowerkz and Hoxton Hall venues. Story Books were also personally invited to open at Koko for new converts Bloc Party, and for James Vincent McMorrow at the Brighton Dome.

Debut single “All Those Arrows” is another vivid display of the craft and attention to detail that’s made band frontman Kristofer Harris a sought-after producer in his own right. The track has resulted in more love from the airwaves from the likes of 6music’s Radcliffe & Maconie and Tom Robinson as well as a playlist at Amazing Radio.

The last six months have seen Harris and the band compiling an arsenal of emotive and timeless songs, they travel to SXSW in March and are currently putting the final touches to their first EP – to be released via Communion Records in April.

Story Books travel to the States for the first time in March with the help of the PRSF’s British Music Abroad scheme. They play the Communion stage, Maggie May’s on the Wednesday of the festival.
