Dan Bettridge: International Showcase Fund (SXSW)
DAN BETTRIDGE, at all of 23 years old, knows his Stax from his Motown, his Sun from his Chess Records; and understands that it’s all about singing straight from the middle of his own bruised heart. His debut release – the stripped bare and beautiful Hunter’s Heart EP – was embraced by Huw Stephens on Radio 1 and Dermot O’Leary on Radio 2, admirably demonstrating that great music is not only timeless, but ageless too.
He has picked up continuous support from ‘Whispering’ Bob Harris after performing an Under The Apple Tree Session during Truck Festival in 2015. Since, Bob handpicked Dan for a special BBC Radio 2 live session at Maida Vale Session for BBC Introducing and invited him to perform at the very first UTAT Festival in Cadogan Hall last September.
With performances at Hay Festival, Green Man, Festival No. 6 and Off The Record, plus international showcase slots at Canadian Music Week, NXNE and CMJ Music Marathon under his belt; as well as, support slots with Band of Horses and Jack Savoretti, Dan Bettridge is certainly turning heads.
Dan is set to release the first single from his debut album in March.
