Cryptic were founded in 1994, and are a Glasgow-based internationally renowned producing art house, presenting some of today’s most imaginative and exciting music creators as well as nurturing and developing the creative talent of tomorrow. Cryptic launched Cryptic Nights in 2009, a programme that has supported over 250 artists in partnership with the Centre for Contemporary Arts (CCA) in Glasgow. Past Cryptic Nights highlights include: Anna Meredith, Raydale Dower, Oliver Coates, Rory Middleton and Yann Seznec.

With support from the PRS Foundation, through the Talent Development Partnership, Cryptic will continue to support musicians through Cryptic Nights and their year-long programme of events, Sonica, which is punctuated by a biennial festival in Glasgow, by presenting emerging British talent alongside exceptional international artists in collaboration with renowned co-producers and venues across the UK. Since launching Sonica in Glasgow at Tramway in 2012, the programme has toured to Austria, Brazil, Denmark, France, Mexico, The Netherlands, and Sweden and across the UK.
