The Wharves: Women Make Music

The Wharves are Marion Andrau (Drums), Gemma Fleet (Bass & Vocals) and Dearbhla Minogue (Guitar and Vocals). The London based three-piece combine gracefully minimal psyche-rock with fuzzed out folk. First album ‘At Bay’ was released in November 2014 on Nottingham’s Gringo Records and have been steadily gaining momentum since. The follow up album to be released in 2015 will feature vocals from a rebel choir made up of up to 30 women from across the UK. Recorded by Rory Attwell on Lightship 95 and Produced by Andy Votel the second album will focus on vocal harmony being the centrepiece of these folk-rock compositions.

The rebel choir project is an open invitation and opportunity for women interested in being involved with The Wharves to sing together in a group. No prior experience is necessary, the choir will explore vocal harmony together, record an improvised choral piece, be encouraged to provide song input and make a recording in a professional studio. The choir will be incorporated into a live performance in Summer 2015.
