2012 saw London-based producer, writer and vocalist WALL release her debut single ‘Magazine’ along side a cover of Karen Dalton’s ‘Something On Your Mind’ to overwhelming critical acclaim. The tracks won her admiration from tastemaker press like Pitchfork, Q, NME, i-D, Noisey and Wonderland, while drawing comparisons to Lykke Li, The XX and Goldfrapp. The support continued at radio where Radio1, XFM and 6 Music all championed the single.

While the production creates an intriguing backdrop, it is WALL’s sense of melody and turn of phrase that takes centre stage. Subtle nods to classic refrains, mingled with her own inflection, suggest a writer who draws from many different eras, resulting in a sound that is both timeless yet modern.

Having spent the best part of last year wowing crowds across the UK touring with the likes of Saint Savour,  WALL has been announced as support for Local Natives’ European Tour in February and March, before heading out to their first SXSW music festival which is being funded by PRSF ‘British Music Abroad’ programme. WALL will be performing at the Urban Outfitters day party and at Latitude 30 (in association with AIM) for the Transgressive / RockfeedBack showcase with more shows to be confirmed. These dates follow on from her sold out London headline show at Hoxton Hall in February.
