Joy Atlas: Women Make Music

Joy Atlas are Beccy Owen (Vocals), Adam Kent (Keyboards), Ian Paterson (Bass) and Ged Robinson (Drums). The Newcastle four-piece combine future-pop with swooning melodies and intelligent lyrics. Currently riding a tangible wave of enthusiasm from fans and critics, Joy Atlas have released three singles to date, all of which have been selected by listeners for the BBC6 Music Mixtape (Fresh on the Net) as well as receiving multiple radio plays on BBC Radio1, BBC6 Music and BBC Introducing (Newcastle).

The band performed at Latitude Festival in 2016 on the BBC Introducing stage and have been championed by Huw Stephens, Jo Whiley, Steve Lamacq and Tom Robinson on their respective BBC Radio shows. Joy Atlas’ debut album is due for release in 2017 and will be a body of work that captures the band’s unique, emerging sound.
