Kat McHugh: Women Make Music

Yorkshire band Polo (formed of writing duo Kat McHugh and Luke Lount) might hail from Leeds, but the pair’s glacial atmospherics and lush, r’n’b-tinged pop are an ethereal world away from the spit’n’sawdust DIY scene that the city’s best known for.

In only three song releases, Kat‘s work with Polo has reached over 50,000 plays on Soundcloud, secured slots at Leeds and Reading, Beacons, Tramlines, Live At Leeds and Long Division Festivals and completed a near sold-out debut UK date tour. Kat and Polo have also had significant press coverage on Noisey, Wonderland, StereoGum and BBC Radio 6.

Kat McHugh and Polo have received PRSF funding towards the cost of their debut EP, following a string of single releases.
