Women Make Music: Lail Arad
For:
The Onion - UK Tour
Lail Arad‘s second album The Onion was released through The Vinyl Factory in April 2016. Co-produced between a snowy winter in Geneva and a summer heat wave in NYC, it is a striking marriage of assured maturity and childlike spirit. A follow up to her 2011 debut Someone New, The Onion has already been lauded by the likes of Lauren Lavern, John Kennedy and Max Reinhardt. Rave reviews have been quick to pick up on Lail‘s lyrical and vocal dexterity, often hailing her as the modern answer to songwriting heroes Lou Reed, Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen et al. As well as a limited edition vinyl (each hand-signed with a different lyric from the album), The Society Club bookshop have published Lail‘s first book of lyrics to coincide with the release.
After triumphant home-town shows at St Pancras Old Church and Chats Palace, the London-born singer songwriter is very excited to be taking her songs and band on the road for a UK tour this Autumn, with support from the PRSF Women Make Music fund. Full dates below.
