TRILLS: Women Make Music

TRILLS are four school friends from London who sing in a way few artists can, creating spellbinding and mesmeric harmonies, honed after years of singing a cappella together. Having been heckled at an 80th birthday party with ‘Are you the sexy cabaret?’ TRILLS were ready to sack it all in until that afternoon they were discovered by a film music supervisor. A few months later they were invited to sing a bespoke track for the UK ‘Suffragette’ trailer racking up over a million YouTube plays. The track went on to win best composition in a trailer at the 2016 Music and Sound awards. Meryl Streep, who starred in the film, said the song made her cry.

TRILLS went from a bedroom acoustic act to working with maverick Swedish producer, Johan Hugo (M.I.A., The Very Best, Vampire Weekend, Mumford & Sons). Their upcoming debut EP, Lacuna, showcases the band’s talent for emotionally wrought songwriting and instantly memorable melodies. Lacuna’s lead single Mud and Gold was quickly snapped up by Disney for the trailer for their summer smash, Pete’s Dragon.

TRILLS finished Summer 2016 with shows at Glastonbury, Latitude and London’s XOYO. Their Lacuna EP will be released on their own label this November.
