New Music 20×12 Crediting and Official Logo

MARKETING

All New Music 20×12 participants must promote New Music 20×12 via all of the following marketing tools:

a) distribution of the New Music 20×12 programme books

b) agreed credits on your website and, where relevant, the website of the venue/festival hosting your concert

c) agreed tags/links on social media

d) agreed credits in all of your print material and in your performance venue/festival’s material including brochures, posters and flyers

e) agreed verbal announcement before all performances, wherever possible.

In all cases, these must be approved by PRSF before they are used – we are responsible not only for crediting of PRSF but for LOCOG and all other funders of New Music 20×12.

PR

If you are able to issue your own press releases, have PR specialists in your team and/or have staff working on this, you must liaise with PRSF and our PR agent, Talia Hull, to coordinate and target journalists, and to ensure that you have the right crediting in your press release.

1. MARKETING

a) Distributing the New Music 20×12 programme books

You will have been sent a box New Music 20×12 programme booklets. These booklets MUST displayed prominently at your performance venues, in lobbies or reception areas, handed out to your audiences and/or placed on seats.

If you have not received enough booklets please contact us. If you do not have the resources to ensure that these booklets are distributed in your venue, please talk to the venue about whether you can access their volunteers or speak with us in good time before the performance.

b) Full Credits to be included on your, and the performance venue/festival’s, website

YOU MUST DISPLAY OFFICIAL LOGO: see button on left

If resizing the logo ensure the words ‘Cultural Olympiad’ are clearly readable, and are no less than 69 pixels in height.

New Music 20×12 commissions will be broadcast by BBC Radio 3 and tour the UK, enabling as many people as possible to enjoy excellent new music as part of our celebrations of the London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games.

c) Agreed tags/links on social media

Twitter – ALL tweets about your New Music 20×12 performances, digital release and BBC Radio 3 broadcast should include the hashtag #NewMusic20x12, and @PRSfoundation if you have space.

USE THIS TEXT IN YOUR PERFORMANCE ANNOUNCEMENTS:

“[Name of your commission] is part of PRS for Music Foundation’s New Music 20×12 programme which has supported the creation of 20 new pieces of music for the Cultural Olympiad. All New Music 20×12 commissions will be broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and will be available to download from NMC Recordings. A recording of our commission will be broadcast on BBC Radio 3’s Hear and Now on (xxxx-insert date). For more info about New Music 20×12 please have a look at the programme books [we handed out earlier/you’ll find on your seats/that you can pick up on your way out of the concert.]”

For your information, BBC Radio 3 broadcast dates can be found here. PLEASE NOTE these are subject to change and you should check with BBC before making your announcement.

2. PR

All press releases (issued by you or your host venue/festival) must meet with the following requirements:

Include the following statement:

You should also include a reference to your broadcast date on BBC Radio 3 and to the fact that your recording will be available to download from NMC Recordings at www.nmcrec.co.uk

Where possible, include a quote from PRSF spokesperson (Vanessa Reed) as well as from representatives of your project

The notes to your press release should be agreed with PRSF and should include a link to PRS for Music Foundation and NMC Recordings’ website and the following statement about funders:
