It is with great excitement that we can announce the London Zoo Residency will culminate in a performance of Axolotl Odyssey at London’s Natural History Museum’s magnificent Darwin Centre Atrium.

Axolotl Odyssey has been described as Hunter S Thompson meets Peter and The Wolf, bringing together the words of DBC Pierre and mariachi influenced music written by Ben Nicholls and Andy Mellon.

Support will come from Lore Lixenberg performing a song of bird calls.

The performance also forms part of Exhibition Road Music Day.

The Axolotl

Our composers in residence, Ben Nicholls and Andy Mellon were inspired by the Axolotl, as the creature resonated with ZSL’s mission of conservation.  This curious amphibian lives on only one lake in Mexico, and is sadly nearing extinction.
