Women Make Music 5 year Report

We released our Women Make Music 5 year report on Friday and we have been posting insights since then, focusing on industry perspectives as well as key findings from the report.

In case you missed it, read the full report here> http://bit.ly/WMM5years

You can also read about the report on Music Week, Classical Music, Mi PRO, and listen to some interviews discussing the report findings on Front Row – BBC Radio 4,  In Tune – BBC Radio 3, and Channel 5 News.  Radio 3 have also played a track by a different Women Make Music grantee every day since 1st March.

When we hosted the round table at Parliament last week, we spoke to a few of the guests about their experiences and opinions, so we have been posting these short videos on our social media accounts. Keep an eye on our feeds and tell us what you think. You can also watch them here>

I spoke at parliament today about the importance of Women in Music! Amazing opportunity to talk to MP’s, the arts council, head of BBC Music & Radio, about my experience with sexism in the industry, why there are less girls in music, what are the hurdles and why women and girls must be supported and encouraged to follow their dreams, try the unknown, break the rules, fall over, get mud on our faces and be ok with it! Music can be your best friend, try it! And know that we are out here advocating for you! Fighting for diversity and funding. My dream is to turn the music community into a real community and days like today make me feel like we can actually make that happen. Keep fighting! Thanks to the @prsfoundation for making our voices heard!
