Kwame Safo, Grants & Programmes Manager (Industry Funds) at PRS Foundation said:

Congratulations to each artist selected to receive support in this latest round of the PPL Momentum Music Fund.  It is fantastic to see, that as things open up, live activities are returning to the mix alongside recording, marketing and promotions. Post-pandemic, we recognize that live still remains a vital pillar to career progression for so many music creators and so its great to be able to support as wide a spread of activities as possible to ensure artists get the best chance of making it to that next stage of their careers.”

Sarah Mitchell, Director of Membership and Communications at PPL, said:

It’s great to see a further twelve artists join the hundreds of acts that have already been supported by the PPL Momentum Music Fund. The fund helps those at a tipping point in their career and has been crucial in the development of commercially and critically acclaimed UK artists. Congratulations to all those receiving funding and we look forward to seeing the boost this will give to their careers.”

Artists who applied to the 1st March 2022 deadline will be informed and announced in the coming months. The next deadline to apply for PPL Momentum Music Fund support is Tuesday 7th June 2022 at 6pm and the application form will be open for submissions in April/May 2022.

Managed by PRS Foundation, the PPL Momentum Music Fund awards grants of £5,000-£15,000 using funds from PRS Foundation, PPL, Creative Wales, Arts Council of Northern Ireland and Invest Northern Ireland. Spotify, the official digital partner of the fund, contributes additional funding and a reward package containing exciting promotional opportunities and a close working relationship between PPL Momentum Music Fund artists and the Spotify team.

PPL became headline sponsors of the Momentum Music Fund in February 2020. Since then, more than 55 talented music creators at tipping points in their careers have received this vital support to break through to the next level. This type of support is crucial for both music creators’ careers and the wider industry as the 5 Years of Momentum Report (2013-18) found the fund had generated over £18m for the UK music industry and UK economy.

PRS Foundation and Arts Council England initiated The Momentum Music Fund in 2013. Arts Council England originally established the need for this specific fund and supported the programme from 2013-18.
