PRS Foundation congratulates Judith Weir CBE, Athelstan Joseph Michael Eavis CBE, Michael George Eakin, Yvette Mona Griffith, Carla Maria Williams and all the recipients of the New Year’s Honors list of 2024.

The New Years Honours List aims to recognize achievements and service of extraordinary individuals across the UK. The list includes community champions, role models in the arts, iconic figures in sports, passionate health workers and supporters of the youth. More than 1200 incredible individuals have been recognised for their exceptional achievements with a focus on those who have been pioneers in their respective fields.

PRS Foundation grantees and partners included in the 2024 New Years Honours List are:

  • Judith Weir CBE: Master of King’s Music, grantee of PRS Foundation’s Women Make Music & Resonate fund. Her project was also supported by the Royal Opera House Foundation which received support through PRS Foundation’s Beyond Border’s initiative.
  • Athelstan Joseph Michael Eavis CBE: Founder and Leader, Glastonbury Festival & Partner on PRS Foundation’s Glastonbury Emerging Talent Competition.
  • Michael George Eakin: Chief Executive, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic which received PRS Foundation’s Open Fund for organisations funding.
  • Yvette Mona Griffith: Co-chief executive of Jazz: refreshed which continues to be PRS Foundation’s Talent Development partner
  • Carla Maria Williams (Carla Marie Williams): Songwriter, Chief Executive Officer & Founder of Girls I rate. Girls I Rate’s Future Hitmaker competition 2023 was supported by PRS Foundation.

As well as our grantees and partners, we applaud all those making this year’s list, such as James Ainscough and Selina Webb, for their exceptional contributions and groundbreaking work in the music sector.
