PPL Momentum Accelerator support in partnership with Music Futures for talented artists and music industry professionals in Liverpool City Region

PRS Foundation, the UK’s leading charitable funder of new music and talent development, announces a new partnership with Music Futures to bring the targeted PPL Momentum Accelerator support to talented artists and music industry professionals based in Liverpool City Region.
PRS Foundation’s PPL Momentum Accelerator Liverpool City Region, offers grants of up to £5,000 to talented artists to support their career development. This PPL Momentum Accelerator funding will provide crucial support for exciting artists with a growing fanbase, currently working to establish a music industry team.
Additionally, support of up to £1,000, which may include micro-grants, mentoring or other holistic support, is available to 6 Liverpool City Region-based music industry professionals and future professionals to develop their skills and careers.
Music Futures is an ambitious five-year programme which will position the LCR as a global hub for innovation, sustainability and research and development (R&D) in music
The partnership with Music Futures enables mentoring to be made available in addition to the grants for the selected music creators and industry professionals.
This latest round of PPL Momentum Accelerator builds on the successful programmes in Liverpool (since 2019), Yorkshire (2020/21), Wales (since 2022) and Tees Valley (since 2025). Previous grantees from Liverpool include, Bandit, Tokky Horror, Pixie, Piss Kitti and Tonia. Recent grantees more widely include English Teacher (Yorkshire), now signed to Island Records and Mercury Prize winners; Astles (Liverpool) signed a publishing deal with Starwood Management (Michael Kiwanuka, The Kooks) and Sentric; Chiedu Oraka (Yorkshire), who headlined BBC Introducing at Glastonbury; and LEMFRECK (Wales), winner of the Welsh Music Prize.

Additionally, the UK-wide PPL Momentum Music fund is available for those artists with a team already in place and at a tipping point, ready to take the next step in their careers. The PPL Momentum Music Fund, which is also open from today for applications, offers grants of up to £15,000 and is for artists with a team already in place and at a tipping point, ready to take the next step in their careers. Past Liverpool-based recipients of the PPL Momentum Music Fund support include Låpsley, All We Are, Jalen N’Gonda, Trudy & the Romance, Dialect and SPINN.
