There has never been more pressure on artists to be commercially viable, business-minded and still retain their well-being. HMUK and a host of experts discuss the ways artists can successfully juggle their creativity, bring in an income and look after their physical and mental well-being all at the same time. Some focus on support through funding and good business planning, supporting the entrepreneur, DIY artist, a holistic approach to touring and recording, top tips for presenting your business plan (not just the public funded or trusts/foundations routes), career coach or mentor on the panel to talk about tips on how to increase your confidence, be effective at planning and prioritising.

An injection of cash at the right time can take a musician’s career to the next critical level, and doesn’t always have to come in the form of an advance from a record label or publisher.
