How you can get involved

Donating to PRS Foundation to support this Fund

Spotify’s COVID-19 Music Relief project enables PRS Foundation to launch the new Fund to sustain creativity. As well as a donation to PRS Foundation, Spotify generously matched donations  pound for pound until 9th August 2020 when they finally reached their $10million worldwide donations total to a selected number of organisations supporting music creators affected by the pandemic.

DONATE HERE

Any donation, big or small, will allow us to reach more music creators and 100% of the money raised enables us to support those who need it most.

Ways to share

This global crisis is having a huge effect on everyone and we have been, and continue to be, incredibly thankful for the support we have received from the music community and those who love, appreciate and rely on new music getting behind this project. If you want and are able to help, we have a few suggestions… your support will directly help music creators:

  1. Retweet, share or re-post

To raise awareness of the Spotify COVID-19 Music Relief project and help PRS Foundation to offer enough financial relief to sustain creativity:

  1. New Spotify for Artists Feature

Spotify have launched a new feature that enables artists to fund raise directly from fans during this challenging time. Go to: https://spoti.fi/AFP where you will have the ability to drive listeners to our fundraising page from your Spotify artist profile pages. You can learn more about the feature on their blog.

How else can I help?

We want to offer applicants additional creative and development opportunities during the lockdown period.

Within our Fund’s application form, we will ask applicants to outline other needs so that we can signpost them to the organisations, companies, individuals and creative peers who are innovating during the lockdown period.  Many are offering virtual mentoring, creative advice, collaboration, workshops and other opportunities.

If you would be interested in offering support which may cover one of the following opportunities, please contact info@prsfoundation.com.

  • Creative composition/songwriter workshops (creative)
  • Advice workshops for composers/songwriters (e.g. peer-to-peer learning)
  • Advice on tools available to host your own virtual shows, meetups or panels
  • Collaborative opportunities (e.g. remotely creating or recording new work in collaboration with others)
  • Creative training or online courses
  • One-to-one remote creative advice or mentoring
  • One-to-one remote career development advice or mentoring
  • New ways to reach audiences/music fans
  • Fundraising

This is a real opportunity for the music community to come together, and PRS Foundation’s collaborative, pioneering values mean we are well placed to make this happen.
