Abram Wilson Foundation for Creative Arts: The Open Fund for Organisations

Future Sound is evolving! Over the course of six months the Abram Wilson Foundation will publish Future Sound digital content across its social media channels and beyond. The project will work with exciting, contemporary musicians such as Oscar Jerome, Richie Seivwright, Giulia Grispino and Arji Manuelpillai to create engaging videos for a new generation of aspiring musicians that will show viewers how they express themselves through music. Content will be aimed at 14-18 year olds, pre-recorded at Church of Sound and Spitfire Audio and made freely available online ensuring that it will be easily accessible for those who don’t have access to the internet at home.

Future Sound Digital will be followed by Future Sound Live! Our flagship music education programme which will bring together aspiring music students from Mossbourne Community Academy, drummer Jas Kayser (and fellow musicians) and award-winning jazz promoters, Church of Sound. 20 students between 11-18 years will learn Kayser’s compositions before composing their own music leading to a final performance at Church of Sound. Students will be a minimum of 90% Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic backgrounds and 60% eligible for Pupil Premium funding.

Jas Kayser is drummer, pianist and composer from the UK. Her recent projects have included presenting her band at the LJF2019, RISE concert in Boston supporting Terri Lyne Carrington and Panama Jazz Festival. She was featured in Lenny Kravitz’ Official music video ‘Low’, has played for Jorja Smith at Union Chapel, and alongside UK jazz artists Nubya Garcia, Ashley Henry amongst others.
