Alain ‘Fusion’ Clapham: POWER UP Industry Professional
Short Bio: With roots in music and a career spanning media and culture, Fusion has built a reputation as an artist, curator and producer who bridges generations, genres and creative worlds. Starting as a pirate radio DJ, he rose to prominence as a journalist, breaking stories on artists like Dr Dre, Lauryn Hill and Nas, while championing UK talent and presenting on MTV Base’s Hip Hop Review during the rise of the digital era. As a producer he played a defining role in the early careers of Estelle, Fallacy and Durtty Doogz — producing underground classics like The Groundbreaker and Big N Bashy — and has collaborated with artists including the late DnB legend Skibadee and reggae icon Dawn Penn. His work continues to amplify voices in grime, hip hop and spoken word who shape British music today. He is also the founder of BMTstories, a storytelling platform spotlighting everyday Black excellence.
