Alex Amor: PPL Momentum Grantee
Alex Amor is a 25 year old Scottish musician, creative, flautist and singer/songwriter (originally from Glasgow now based in London). Alex released her debut EP ‘Love Language’ independently in January 2021, receiving praise from Notion, CLASH Magazine and The Scotsman amongst many other publications. ‘Love Language’ was featured as record of the week on BBC Radio Scotland as well as being played on BBC Radio 1 by Annie Mac, Jack Saunders, Sian Eleri and BBC Introducing. As well as playing multiple UK festival dates in 2021 she supported Thomas Headon and The Snuts, with her own hometown headline show scheduled for February 2022 at King Tuts, Glasgow.
The PPL Momentum fund will enable Alex to record her second EP ‘The Art of Letting Go’ – a body of work dedicated to the universal theme of letting go – letting go of the past, people who hold us back and the things that no longer serve us in life. Alex will also create an accompanying music video for a single from the project with the awarded funding.
