About :

Local Nocturna is a forward-thinking club night experience based in Norwich, which champions inclusivity for marginalised community groups and a diverse programme supporting local talent. The Local Nocturna team are very pleased to receive funding to support a new programme of events, including a new ambient-focused club night and community workshops (Dance Discourse: talk-shop community exchange) helping support the wider night-life ecology of Norwich. This new and ambitious club night explores boundary-pushing electronic music that spans dub, left-field, abstract and ambient sounds. The PRS grant will allow us to do what we do best – design, develop, deliver and promote three exciting and ambitious events, including community consultation, ambient live shows, and experimental club nights throughout 2024-2025.

We aim to grow organically, authentically, and carefully. Now is the time to grow the ambitious Local Nocturna programme and cement Local Nocturna as vital player on a national stage. Local Nocturna is an inclusive space for underrepresented communities and we are committed to diverse representation of artists, staff and dancers and exercising positive discrimination. We plan to develop a long-term and sustainable strategy informed by our communities – and continue offering transformative club night experiences to communities in and around Norwich.

Project Description:

3x new events from November 2024 – April 2025, spanning ambient and experimental dance music, and ‘Dance Discourse’, a talk-shop community exchange.
