Hackney born and raised, singer-songwriter Amahla entered 2020 with a string of sold out headline London shows and critical acclaim for her sociopolitical songwriting and exceptional voice. The year saw Amahla’s momentum accelerate with an Ivor Novello Rising Star nomination, mentorship from Apple, support slots with Omar and Beverly Knight and being personally selected by Fearne Cotton to write a record a song for her ‘Happy Place’ compilation album.
2021 sees an evolution of her previous releases, with new music merging old school Soul with contemporary R&B and sets a high bar for her forthcoming duo of EP’s. She will also headline the Jazz Cafe in June and Camden Assembly in November with a string of summer festival performances to add into the mix.
