Anna Ross : Early Career Promoter Fund

About :

Offshoots is a jazz event in Leeds run by Anna Ross, focussing on promoting early career jazz musicians at grassroots venues across Leeds. The event specialises in promoting jazz, experimental, avant-garde and improvised music but also covers a range of jazz-influenced music. The main aim of Offshoots is to be a safe space for everyone (performers and audience members) without fear of prejudice and mistreatment. This allows early career musicians to build up confidence by performing to a recurring audience with encouragement to watch and interact with the other performances and the audience. There is a huge emphasis on working with grassroots venues, to support the local music scene and to help make sure that live music and live jazz can continue in Leeds for many years in the future.

Project Description :

3 monthly events at the Fox & Newt in collaboration with others promoters, an anniversary show in November, monthly gigs Jan-July.
