The recording of the 3rd Arborist album at Spacebomb Records

Mark McCambridge has been producing music under the name ARBORIST since 2015. Over this time he has released 2 critically acclaimed albums (UNCUT 8/10, ★★★★ The Guardian and ★★★★ Mojo) while working with a cast of incredible musicians from around the UK and Ireland as well as Kim Deal of The Breeders, who contributed harmonies to an early single. He has toured with and played alongside the likes of James Yorkston, Low, Cat Power, Echo & The Bunnymen and Guy Garvey, with songs receiving extensive play on BBC 6Music and beyond from Cerys Matthews, Lauren Laverne, Gideon Coe, Tom Robinson and Dermot O’Leary (Radio 2).

The song ‘Here Comes the Devil’ from the 2nd ARBORIST LP won Best Single at the NI Music Awards in 2020.

Having been an admirer of the music of Matthew E White – and many of the artists who record at his Spacebomb studio in Richmond, Virginia – Mark set-up a call with Matthew after sending some demos and an arrangement was made to record the new Arborist album in Spacebomb, as soon as the pandemic allowed. It’s a monumental opportunity and a fitting step forward in Mark’s career as a recording artist.
