‘‘Wanderscapes’’ is an experiment in creating and showcasing new music in a Covid-19 world. It is a project that will commission new music, showcase talent online, and will culminate in a Wanderscapes Journey – a physical walking route that invites you to explore The Old Courts building, green spaces and freshly created tracks.
Working with artists Mark Peters, Ulrich Schnauss & three local emerging music creators, Wanderscapes will support artists whose music is deeply connected to the spaces around them at a time when there are little other opportunities available to record and perform.
The Old Courts is an arts centre in Wigan that has been supporting emerging North-West talent since 2015. For the past 5 years, we’ve been working with local, regional and national artists to put Wigan back on the map as a cultural destination and a hotbed of talent.
