Irini Mando: International Showcase Fund (ASCAP Expo 2017)
Before she set out to London to pursue music full-time, the German-born singer with Greek roots built her foundation on her eclectic musical education ranging from playing classical music and jazz on piano from the age of five to beginning to write hip hop and pop songs as a teenager.
After honing her performance skills in London for four years, Mandó has built a credible reputation headlining shows around London and online/TV/radio appearances over the last few years (Hoxton Square Bar, The Finsbury, Tileyard Studios, Westside FM, London Live, to name a few).
On her new project Eden, the singer shows us what she can do without co-writers, working with only two producers within the space of five months, her distinctive tone and witty words being the through-line. The first single Tide is currently available on Vevo.
She has previously worked with the Amy Winehouse Foundation which brought to fruition the title song of her first EP Pink Noise and single Hang, which featured on the Foundation’s very first compilation album under Island Records in 2015.
