Asha Gold: The Open Fund for Music Creator

Asha Gold’s sophomore EP

London’s Asha Gold blends silky pop melodies with contemporary R&B production. Verified by Rolling Stone, BBC Radio 1, BBC Asian Network, BBC 1Xtra, The Line Of Best Fit, plus many more global tastemakers, this thriving newcomer harnesses the cool power of the city, as well as essence of her Indian heritage. Her r&b-inflected pop prioritises nuanced and unpredictable lyricism, along with atypical percussion and production. Asha Gold’s sound is deeply personal yet instantly accessible, as shown by the connections she has developed with fans and tastemakers alike.

Asha Gold will use her Open Fund for Music Creators grant to record, release and market her second EP in Spring of 2024. Over the past year, Asha Gold has relished the opportunity to experiment sonically, with the release of three singles, including a track half-written in Spanish. She is now excited to be releasing a cohesive, innovative body of work with accompanying visuals. Asha has been honing her writing skills, and her upcoming work feels to be her most pertinent yet, touching on significant topics beyond her debut EP’s theme of navigating relationships and friendships while growing up. As ever, her songwriting is honest and intricate, and her vocal delivery is more emboldened than ever, strengthened by a string of live shows this year.
