BEAM Festival: 4 days of concerts, club nights and installations from international artists & researchers in interactive music performance. These artists are united through their uses of old and new technologies in inventive and musical ways. Come see Imogen Heap performing with her new Mi.Mu Gloves, immerse yourself in Leafcutter John’s light driven synthesizer performance, dance the night away with live ‘Algorave’ computer programming on the dance floor, let John Butcher’s improvisation transform your understanding of the saxophone, take a musical bike ride around New Cross on Kaffe Matthews’s interactive sonic bikes and experience Kathy Hinde’s immersive, aquatic installation. Through these musical experiences, BEAM@NIME provides a portal to a world where technologies are used in creative, strange and wonderful ways to enhance and extend human bodies and the music they make.
