Theatr Nonog: Beyond Borders

Eye of the Storm is a new country musical for young people written by Theatr na nÓg’s Artistic Director Geinor Styles, with original songs by Grammy Award winner Amy Wadge (Thinking Out Loud with Ed Sheeran).

The cast of 8 actor musicians tell the story of a young girl called Emmie who lives in the Welsh Valleys and dreams of being a ‘storm chaser.’ Her ultimate goal in life is to travel to Tornado Alley to study storms and find herself in the ‘Eye of the Storm’.

Emmie’s love of science and desire to track down the world’s most destructive natural forces takes her away from her everyday life of being a carer for her mother and the love and duty she has for her family. This is a life affirming show, guaranteed to lift your spirit and inspire young people that they can achieve their ambitions in life.

Amy Wadge

Amy first came to prominence as a singer songwriter in her own right. Having moved from her hometown of Bristol to study in Wales, she found herself at the heart of a hugely dynamic music scene, twice winning Best Female Artist at the Welsh Music Awards.

Amy’s most notable success to date comes from her long established writing partnership with, Ed SheeranThinking Out Loud, was the third single from Ed’s second album X, (Multiply). It went to No. 1 in the UK chart in November 2014 after spending 19 weeks in the Top 40.

In February 2016, the track won two Grammys at the 58th Recording Academy Awards Ceremony, ‘Song of the Year’ and ‘Best Pop Solo Performance’. Amy toured the length and breadth of the UK, across Europe, in the US and Down Under, releasing five solo albums, various EPs . Amy continues to tour regularly.
