Hotly-tipped London-based quartet Blue-Eyed Hawk marks the release of its highly anticipated debut album “Under the Moon” with a nine-date UK tour.

Taking its name from a line in W.B. Yeats’s poem Under the Moon, Blue-Eyed Hawk (guitarist Alex Roth, vocalist Lauren Kinsella, trumpeter Laura Jurd and drummer Corrie Dick) brings a wide open improv sensibility to its melodic and richly textured original material, creating uniquely eclectic music that traverses art-rock, jazz, minimalist and electronic soundworlds.

With the writing shared between all four members of the band, the debut album “Under the Moon” (titled after the same Yeats poem) is the sum of a collaborative process that bursts with a collective energy and vision. The result is emotive, lyrical, dark, inspiring and at times unexpected, often conjuring the dreamlike, nature-themed imagery of Yeats’s eponymous poem.

Working with producer Tom Herbert (The Invisible, Polar Bear) and electronic artist Leafcutter John (Polar Bear, Melt Yourself Down), “Under the Moon” draws from a vast sound palette, utilising production techniques from across a wide spectrum of musical styles and eras. The result is dynamic, substantial and expansive with strikingly detailed textures emerging from richly varied soundscapes.

Released on 15th September 2014 on Edition Records, “Under the Moon” is an album of beauty, diversity and soaring emotion.
