BLUESFORTHEHORN: The Open Fund for Music Creators
BLUESFORTHEHORN is an East-London-British-Somali-Female R&B singer and songwriter fusing the heart of Tamia with the spirit of Lauryn Hill. As a songwriter, she writes about the everyday experiences of others and her own, which are typically about love, heartbreak and vulnerabilities. Her singles “Insecurities” and “Summertime Fall” were supported by DJ Ace (BBC Radio 1 XTRA) and were played on Capital XTRA and Worldwide FM. After the release of her debut EP ‘Finna Touch ‘A’ beach’, she was listed as “Jamz EP Top 5” by DJ Jamz Supernova. She has supported the likes of [K S R] at The Waiting Room in London and Yazmin Lacey on her UK tour in February 2020.
Her EP will promise to deliver an RnB and Jazz inspired sound. She is excited to work with a diverse range of upcoming session players, emerging musicians and producers from all across London. The EP will reflect her growth, address vulnerabilities and curate a timeless RnB sound. As a Black-British-Muslim, BLUESFORTHEHORN’s identity has played a significant role in bridging both cultures together – influencing her music and sound. Through her music, she has inspired and connected with the diaspora community across the world. She is excited to be supported by PRSF Open Fund and to be representing one of the few RnB British Somalis in UK music.
