Bob Levene is an artist currently based in Sheffield. Her work adopts pseudo-scientific strategies and anthropological methods of recording to analyse the ‘nature’ of things, with a focus on the nature of perception and sound. The work manifests as recorded sound & video, performance, installation, drawing, photography and sculpture.

She has performed, screened & exhibited work at ICA (London), Arnolfini (Bristol) and BBC Radio 3 Cut & Splice Festival  (London), Plymouth Arts Centre, Dundee Contemporary Arts and Festival Rümlingen (Switzerland). Cornerhouse (Manchester) and Globe Gallery (North Shields), FA Projects (London), Gallery North (Newcastle). In 2008 she was artist in residence at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. Awards have included an Arts Council Fellowship to Colima, Mexico, an Artsadmin Mid-Career Bursary and in 2009 she was nominated for the Northern Art Prize. Her film Tell me when you think one minute is up from… won Best Art and Experimental Film category at this year’s film festival in Aarau, Switzerland. She recently returned from Finland where she was exhibiting in Kiasma, Museum of Contemporary Art as part of the Äänen Lumo Festival in Helsinki.  She is currently working on a new commission for The National Media Museum, Bradford, UK
