Boo (Ghetec) : Early Career Promoter Fund
Concise Project Description : I will host a series of electronic music club nights in the North East and London, including a showcase and 3 free open decks sessions
Boo explores the euphoric, pounding, and cathartic zone between experimental and dance music. Her multi-sensory, dreamstate party series, record label and community Ghetec has gained a cult following in the North East, world building from the ground up – she’s a true diamond in the rough. After the release of Hyper Feminine, her “trance-inducing afterhours summer club anthem” (Gorilla Vs Bear), she was chosen as the winner of BBC Radio 1’s talent search and named a Next Wave future artist by Jack Saunders.
Among thousands of aspiring musicians, she won the BBC emerging talent competition in July, and was selected to perform at the BBC Radio 1 Dance event in Ibiza. Throughout 2024, Boo released her debut EP “Winged Victory,” played Fabric and Junction 2 festival, and signed with Wasserman Music, where she is now represented by Cecilia Chan, who also represents Mark Ronson, Hudson Mohawke, and Jyoty. Boo has recently remixed Jadu Hearts’ “U,” which was released on the Live from Earth club label and received support across BBC Radio 1. She has made her Fold debut and is set to headline Belgrave Music Hall, alongside a Boiler Room x Ghetec collaboration that will see her perform alongside Evian Christ, Sim0ne, Salome, and more. Building on last year’s momentum, Boo is hosting a string of Ghetec parties and open decks events, launching in London and continuing in the North East. With a second EP set for release in May 2025, her world is poised to expand further, as she prepares to bring her voice to the forefront of her live show, which is currently in development.
