Cabbage: International Showcase Fund
“Cabbage might just be the most exciting live band in the UK right now”
(Drowned In Sound)
“…twisted post-punk slinkers stuffed with explicit lyrics and Jack White levels of rage”
(NME)
The band, Lee Broadbent (lead vocals), Joe Martin (vocals, guitar), Eoghan Clifford (guitar), Stephen Evans (bass) and Asa Morley (drums), all grew up next to each other in Mossley: “an insignificant dead zone eight miles east of Manchester” (The Guardian).
With a semi-controlled riot of tunes, energy, politics and black humour, Cabbage are one of the most exciting new live acts for many years. Having spent much of 2016 playing to increasing crowds and growing media attention, the Manchester five-piece just embarked on their busiest tour schedule yet: a sell out UK tour, main support slot on the upcoming NME Tour with Blossoms and a show with Courteeners at Emirates, Old Trafford Cricket Ground, Manchester (50,000 capacity) in May.
The band are also set to play Norwegian showcase festival By:Larm in Oslo this March. The festival combines all the best new talent from around Europe as well as local Nordic countries.
The cost of taking a band to play shows outside of the UK can be quite significant, which is why the support provided by PRS ISF Funding for the band’s trip in March is so important.
